using a 5mm crochet hook

HAT: (using 5mm hook)

– magic ring, sc x7 in magic ring, ch.1

– dc x2 in each st, cl.w/sl.st & ch.2
– dc x2 in first stitch, dc x1 in next stitch … repeat to close w/sl.st & ch.2
– dc x2 in first stitch, dc x1 in next 2 stitches * … repeat *to around, cl.w/sl.st & ch.2
– dc x2 in first stitch, dc x1 in next 3 stitches … repeat to around, cl.w/sl.st & ch.2
– dc x2 in first stitch, dc x1 in next 4sts … repeat to around, cl.w/sl.st & ch.2
– dc in each st around for 4 rounds
– dc dec, dc in next 7sts repeat 4 times, dc in the last 4sts, cl.w/sl.st & ch.2



Ear flaps:
– working from the back seam, skip the first 4 stitches and reattach yarn into the 5th stitch & ch.2
– dc into the same st & into the following 8 sts (9 sts total)
– ch.2 & turn work
– repeat last row for 2 rows
– dc dec, dc into following 5 sts, dc dec (7) ch.2 & turn work
– dc dec, dc into following 3 sts, dc dec (5) ch.2 & turn work
– dc.dec, dc in the next st, dc dec (3) ch.2 & turn work
– dc dec, dc in following 5 sts, dc dec (7 sts total) ch.2 & turn work
– dc.dec, dc in next 3 sts, dc dec (5) ch.1 & turn work
– sl.st in each st (5)fasten off

Goggles:
– ch. 5
– hdc x2 in 2nd ch from the hook
– hdc x1 in the following 2 chains
– hdc x2 in the last chain
– turn work counter clockwise so you’re working back down the other side of the chain & do 1 hdc in each ch. space (3) close with slip stitch in the first stitch from the round & fasten off
Switch Colours:
– attach new yarn in the first stitch of the row & ch.1
– hdc x2 in first stitch, hdc in following 3 sts, hdc x2 in the next, hdc x1 in the following, 4 sts, cl with slip stitch
– ch.2, dcx2 in 1st st, dc in the following 6sts, dcx2 in the next, dcx1 in the following 4sts. close with sl.st in top of ch.2 space & fasten off
– reattach yarn to the stitch that would be the inner corner of the eye & ch.2, dc into the same stitch, dc in the next stitch, ch.2 & turn work
– dc in first stitch & next, ch.2 & turn work
– repeat last row for a total of 18 rows
– attach to other goggle with a slip stitch & a slip stitch connecting the second stitch to the other goggle as well, fasten off
– use a yarn needle and same colour yarn as the goggles to attach them to the hat

Finishing:
– use any colour yarn (typically for added texture & effect another colour other than the main one used for the hat is a good idea): attach at back seam & ch.1
– hdc in each stitch around to create a clean trim of the hat, close with slips stitch and fasten off
*use a yarn needle to hide all of the tail ends by weaving in and out of the stitches on the inside of the hat*




PANTS: (5mm hook)

* [ch.25
* dc in second ch from hook & in each ch down the row (24)
* ch.2 & turn work
* dc in each st down row
* repeat last row for a total of 10 rows
* ch.2 & turn work
* *dc in first 10 stitches, ch.2 & turn work
* dc in the same 10 stitches, ch.2 & turn work … repeat for a total of 9 rows, close with slip stitch and fasten off*
* re-attach yarn at the other corner & repeat to for the other leg of the pants]
* repeat [to] for the back of the pants
FINISHING:
* lineup the front and back of the pants and attach with even slip stitches down the sides of the outside and inside of the pants to complete them
* attach your other colour of yarn at the cuff of one pant leg, ch.1, hdc in each stitch around for 2 rounds
* repeat the same steps for the other pant leg cuff

SCARF:
* ch.14
* hdc in second chain from the hook and in each one down the row (13)
* ch.1 & turn work
* hdc in each stitch down the row, ch.1 & turn
* repeat last row for a total of _ rows
* fasten off
* cut even lengths of yarn for fringe and tie along both ends of scarf evenly spaced
